Countdown - Day 2

Can you feel it?  Bowl season is just a couple days away.  It's all I could think about at work today.  Well, that and the horrible Drunk Uncle sketch during the 12/12/12 concert.  What was that?  It takes some guts to get up in front of two billion people and bomb like those guys did.  If you missed, here it is.  (Low sound)

Cringe-worthy.  Throwing rotten vegetables and fruit was warranted. 

Okay, the games start Saturday while I'm on the air.  Bad BowlQuest planning on me.  I'll have the game on at work and be home in time for the second half of the New Mexico Bowl.  If you're looking for a shoot-out don't miss the game between Arizona and Nevada.  Could be one of the highest scoring games of the schedule.

I'm not thrilled that there is a five day gap between the first two games then the Poinsettia Bowl on the 20th and Beef O'Brady's Bowl on the 21st.  Not a fan of this at all.  Imagine Beef's Whole Lotta Steak Nachos on your table. 

And then having to wait five days to eat them.  That's criminal.  Sure, you're not going to put a bottom tier bowl game against the NFL but what about Tuesday night?

Move Beef Up!  Move Beef Up! 

Let's get this chant going like the Astrodome crowd's "Let Them Play" chant in Bad News Bears In Breaking Training.  That's the one with William DeVane as Kelly Leak's dad who winds up coaching the team.  The movie has this great scene with Kelly Leak staring at the Astrodome in the distance as some inspiring music plays.

By the way, the second game Saturday is the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl with Utah State taking on Toledo.  Fans don't seem too willing to travel from Toledo to Boise.  The Rockets have sold all of 300 tickets to the game and sent the rest back to the potato bowl folks without paying for them.  Don't even try to get Toledo to pay for those unused tickets Spuddy Buddy. The MAC might want to get out of their deal with this game.

And speaking of potatoes, how about these spuds from Beef O'Brady's? 

Yeah, Beef's Cheesy Bacon Pub Chips.  Might need to get Mrs. Keith to whip some of these up for the game next Wednesday as well as get a Lipitor prescription. 

That's probably enough for now, I'm searching for Kelly Leak Astrodome pictures on Google.  Blog's gone off the pop culture rails.
